NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR WOMEN SOCIETIES (NCWS ) CONGRATULATES OKOWA ON HIS RE-ELECTION VICTORY, DESCRIBED HIM AS A GENDER FRIENDLY GOVERNOR

ASABA-The Leadership of National Council For Women societies (NCWS) Nigeria, Delta State Chapter led by its State President,
Mrs Helen TSitse Bob-Manuel, has Congratulated Governor Ifeanyi
Okowa as a gender friendly Political Leader.
NCWS Delta State President who spoke in
company of the State Publicity Secretary, Mrs
Bridget Ada Ebomah made this
known to Newsmen in Asaba, Delta State Capital today stated, that Governor
Ifeanyi Okowa’s Victory in just concluded March 9th, 2019
Gubernatorial elections in Delta State is a testimony of good works which he has done for all Deltans
in his first term.
‘’ National Council For Women
Societies(NCWS) Nigeria, Delta State Chapter which is an umbrella body
association of all Women in the State. We can boldly testify of various State
Governments empowerment programs- Women Skill acquisition programs, Vocational
Education, Agricultural empowerment programs such as STEP, YAGEP, PPSP and
MSMEs programs that has uplifted our Women in Delta State economically’’, Mrs Bob-Manuel stated
‘’NCWS is fully aware of all you did for
Women across the three Senatorial Districts of the State. Women in Delta State
has reciprocated your kind gestures by working for you again in 2019 for more
sustainable development . We commend you
in your re-election victory once again’’, she
applauded the Governor.
‘’ OKowa has also encouraged Women
participation in politics in Delta State. Even in this 2019 general elections
as a gender friendly Governor, some of our Women has won the various seats in
the State House of Assembly. In the state
we have female councilors, Vice Chairmen and
Executive Chairman of a Local Government’’, NCWS State president Sated.
‘’NCWS Nigeria, Delta State Chapter commends your re-election. Your SMART Agenda
policy of more prosperity for all Deltans had impacted positively on our youths
and Women therefore ensuring that our people become self- employed,
self-reliance, self-independent for the economic growth and development of our
dear state’’, she stated.
‘’NCWS Nigeria, Delta State Chapter worked
assiduously before the elections by sensitizing Women at the grassroots in the
25 LGAs to register, collect their PVCs
and ensure that they voted for PDP en mass in this 2019 general elections’’,
The state president said.
‘’It is also interesting to know that
during the elections (Presidential/ National Assembly, Governorship/ State
House of Assembly elections) , that
approval was given at the National level for some NCWS to act as an observer
during the elections . We therefore admonish you to give more place for Women
in your cabinet after your swearing-in come May 29th, 2019’’, the State president Stated
‘’Our Motherly prayer for you His
Excellency, Sen. Dr Arthur Ifeany i Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta
State is that your performance in this second term(2019-2023) would uplift all
sectors in our dear state, and usher in more dividends of democracy’’, Mrs
Bob-Manuel prayed.
